Ricercatore confermato di Costruzioni Idrauliche all'Università di Genova.

Ha ricevuto nel 1992 la laurea in Ingegneria idraulica presso l'Università di Genova, e nel 1997 il Dottorato in Idrodinamica presso l'Università di Padova.

Nel 1998 ha trascorso un periodo presso il MIT con borsa post-doc del programma CNR-MIT per attività di ricerca su  assimilazione dei dati satellitari per le applicazioni idrologiche.

Ha svolto attività di ricerca e didattica presso l’Università di Genova, dove ha retto la funzione di Vice Presidente del Corso di studio in Ingegneria dell’Ambiente ed ha coordinato le attività internazionali del corso stesso.
