Marco Massimo Fato was born on September, the 22th, 1963 in Genoa, Italy. Scientific High School Degree at Liceo G.D. Cassini of Genoa, Italy, in 1982 (48/60). Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Genoa, Italy, in 1988 (106/110). Scientific collaborator in the Laboratory of Bioengineering and anthropomorphic robot of University of Genoa, Department of Communication, Computer and Systems Science (DIST), from 1989 to 1990. He has worked at Video Display Systems (VDS SpA) of Florence as developer of CAD and CAM systems in UNIX for applications in industrial robotics, from 1990 to 1992. Research grant on Quantitative Microscopy, Collaboration with Leica S.p.A from 1992 to 1993. PhD, University of Genoa, Italy, in 1996.
